Ralf joined Oberweis Asset Management in November 2006 and is the
lead Portfolio Manager for the International Opportunities strategy.
Most recently, he was an International Equity Analyst at Jetstream
Capital, LLC, a premier global hedge fund. Ralf has also worked for
Aragon Global Management, LLC, Bricoleur Capital Management, LLC and
NM Rothschild & Sons Limited. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business
School and a BS, summa cum laude, in Finance, Accounting and Chinese
from Georgetown University. Ralf grew up and has work experience in
Europe and has also lived in South Africa and Taiwan. He has studied
abroad in China and Taiwan, and is fluent in German. Ralf has been
published in the Journal of Private Equity.
Yanru Hsu
Analyst
Yanru joined Oberweis Asset Management in November 2006 as an
Analyst for the International Opportunities strategy. She was
previously employed by Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Associate, where
she provided financial consulting services to major international
corporations doing business in Japan, China and other parts of Asia.
Yanru earned an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Masters in
Commerce with a BA in Business Administration from Takushoku
University in Tokyo, Japan. Yanru is a Certified Public Account and is
a Level III CFA Candidate. She is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and
English.
Daniel J. Burr
Analyst
Dan joined Oberweis Asset Management in March 2008 as an Analyst
for the International Opportunities strategy. He was previously
employed by Federated Investors, Inc. as an Equity Research Analyst,
where he provided research coverage on large and mid cap stocks within
the energy sector. Dan has passed level 3 of the Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA) program and is currently awaiting his designation. Dan
earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Economics and
Business Management from Cornell University.
Jim E. Chartrand
Director of Trading
Jim joined Oberweis Asset Management in June 2005 as the Director of
Trading and has over 15 years of investment industry experience.
Previously, Jim was a Senior Equity Trader at Waddell & Reed
Investment Management Company in Kansas City. He also worked for
Paladin Investment Associates as Director of Trading, where he was
responsible for managing all aspects of the equity trading desk. He
began his career with Investment Advisers, Inc. in 1992, where he held
various positions within the operations and trading departments. Jim
earned a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of
St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of Security Traders
Association of Chicago.
Jae W. Chang
International Trader
Jae joined Oberweis Asset Management in October 2006 as an
International Trader and has nearly a decade of investment industry
experience. Jae was previously employed as a Trader for the Blackstone
Group, where he focused on the international marketplace. He began his
career with Oppenheimer & Co. where he held various positions within
the investment management team. Jae earned a BA in Economics and
Government from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He is a member of
the Security Traders Association of Chicago and is a CFA Level II
candidate.
Patrick B. Joyce, CPA
Executive Vice President
Pat is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief
Compliance Officer of Oberweis Asset Management, Inc. and is
responsible for administering OAM’s accounting and compliance policies
and procedures. He joined Oberweis Asset Management, Inc. in 1994. Pat
earned a BBA in Accounting from Cleveland State University and has in
excess of 23 years of experience in the financial services industry.
He was previously employed with The Chicago Corporation, Carr Asset
Management, Inc./Indosuez Carr Futures, Inc., and Selected Financial
Services, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Kemper Financial Services.
He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Compliance
Professionals.
Brian K. Lee
Director of Marketing & Client Service
Brian joined Oberweis Asset Management in April of 2002 to establish
and lead the firm’s institutional marketing and client service
efforts. Brian earned an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and a BA
in Finance from Loyola Marymount University. Previously, he was
employed by Delaware Investments/Lincoln Financial Distributors, where
he served as a Director of Marketing. Prior to that, he worked for
Wilshire Associates in both marketing and client service roles.
