Ralf joined Oberweis Asset Management in November 2006 and is the lead Portfolio Manager for the International Opportunities strategy. Prior to joining OAM, he was an International Equity Analyst at Jetstream Capital, LLC, a premier global hedge fund. Ralf has also worked for Aragon Global Management, LLC, Bricoleur Capital Management, LLC and NM Rothschild & Sons Limited. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSBA, summa cum laude, in Finance, Accounting and Chinese from Georgetown University. Ralf grew up and has work experience in Europe and the UK, and has also lived in South Africa, China and Taiwan. Ralf has been a featured speaker at The Advisors MoneyShow, and has been published in the Institutional Investor's Journal of Private Equity and the CFA Institute's CFA Digest. He has also been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Reuters, the Associated Press, USA Today, CNNMoney, Bloomberg, SmartMoney, Money Magazine, Investor's Business Daily and the Financial Times.
Jeff Papp, CFA
Assistant Portfolio Manager Principal
Jeff joined Oberweis Asset Management in 2004 and is a Senior Analyst on the International Opportunities team. Jeff began his career working on the U.S. team at Oberweis, and was later a founding team member of OAM's China Opportunities strategy. While simultaneously working on the China strategy, Jeff helped launch the International Opportunities strategy and worked as an Analyst on the International Opportunities team from November 2006 through March 2008. From October 2005 to August 2013, he worked as a Senior Analyst on the China Opportunities strategy and continued to collaborate with the International Opportunities team on Asian equities. He rejoined the International Opportunities team full-time in August 2013. Jeff is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute. He earned a BS in Finance with high honors from the University of Illinois. Jeff has been a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox Business. He has also provided commentary on various investment issues to Bloomberg News, Investor's Business Daily, and TheStreet.com.
Yanru Hsu, CFA
Yanru joined Oberweis Asset Management in November 2006 as a founding member of the International Opportunities team. After a leave of absence from '09-'10, she worked in our Hong Kong office, where she covered Asian equities and built a strong network of industry, management, and broker contacts. She rejoined the international team in September 2012. Prior to OAM, Yanru was a senior associate at Deloitte, where she advised corporate clients on M&A transactions, valuations, and corporate strategic planning. Her projects included advisory work in Japan and Taiwan. Yanru earned her MBA from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Commerce with a BA in Business Administration from Takushoku University in Tokyo, Japan. She is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Yanru is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese.
Sean joined Oberweis Asset Management in August 2011 as an Analyst on the International Opportunities team and was promoted to Senior Analyst in 2014. Sean was previously employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Forensic Technology Group where he conducted forensic accounting on global investigations. Sean has also worked for Citigroup in their mergers and acquisitions group and Gofen and Glossberg in the equity research department. Sean completed his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in June 2011. He also earned an MA in Mathematical Finance from Boston University and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Florida.
Charles joined Oberweis Asset Management, Inc. in September 2014 as a Senior Analyst on the International Opportunities investment team. Prior to joining OAM Charles worked at Goldman Sachs in London for six years as an Executive Director in Equity Research and the Head of the Business Services sector team. He was voted the #1 Business Services sector analyst in the 2014 Thomson Extel Survey and, under his leadership, his team was consistently ranked among the top research teams at Goldman Sachs, both by clients and internal Goldman Sachs sales teams. He was also lead analyst on a number of successful European IPOs. Charles started working in the financial industry in 1998, and has both buy-side and sell-side experience at various firms, including Citigroup, Bridgewell and Cazenove (now part of JP Morgan), where he covered a wide variety of sectors. Charles holds a BA with Honors in Economics and History from Bristol University and is based in the United Kingdom.
Jim E. Chartrand
Director of Trading Principal
Jim joined Oberweis Asset Management in June 2005 as the Director of Trading and has over 15 years of investment industry experience. Previously, Jim was a Senior Equity Trader at Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company in Kansas City. He also worked for Paladin Investment Associates as Director of Trading, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the equity trading desk. He began his career with Investment Advisers, Inc. in 1992, where he held various positions within the operations and trading departments. Jim earned a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of Security Traders Association of Chicago.
Adnan joined Oberweis Asset Management in March 2010 as International Trader. Adnan was previously employed by Seligman/Riversource Investments in New York as International Trader where he was responsible for trading international stocks for quant, hedge and mutual funds. He also worked for US Trust Securities as a Fixed Income Trader and Dreyfus Corporation as a Brokerage Account Trader. Adnan earned a BA in Banking and Finance with a Minor in Mathematics from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
Nick Curry, CFA
Nick joined Oberweis Asset Management in May 2007 as a Trading Assistant and was promoted to Equity Trader in September 2008. Nick earned a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois. Nick is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, the CFA Institute, and the Securities Traders Association of Chicago.
James W. Oberweis, CFA
Jim is President of Oberweis Asset Management and oversees all investment research at Oberweis. He has spent his entire career managing portfolios of high growth, small cap companies. Jim is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Jim earned an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. He has been a featured guest on CNBC and Bloomberg television and authors a growth stock column for Forbes. Jim is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Economic Club of Chicago, the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, and the CFA Institute.
Patrick B. Joyce, CPA

Pat is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Oberweis Asset Management, Inc. and is responsible for administering OAM's accounting and compliance policies and procedures. He joined Oberweis Asset Management, Inc. in 1994. Pat earned a BBA in Accounting from Cleveland State University. He was previously employed with The Chicago Corporation, Carr Asset Management, Inc./Indosuez Carr Futures, Inc., and Selected Financial Services, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Kemper Financial Services. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Compliance Professionals.
Brian K. Lee
Director of Institutional Marketing & Client Service Principal
Brian joined Oberweis Asset Management in April of 2002 to establish and lead the firm's institutional marketing and client service efforts. Brian earned an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and a BA in Finance from Loyola Marymount University. Previously, he was employed by Delaware Investments/Lincoln Financial Distributors, where he served as a Director of Marketing. Prior to that, he worked for Wilshire Associates in both marketing and client service roles.
